Terms of Service
Effective July 4, 2026 · Last updated August 18, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of DoBid. By creating an account, listing an item, placing a bid, or otherwise using DoBid, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use DoBid.
0. Marketplace Facilitator
DoBid is a marketplace facilitator only. We are not a seller, buyer, or auctioneer. All item transactions occur directly between buyers and sellers. DoBid provides the platform, tools, and buyer-fee payment processing, but we do not take title to items, collect purchase prices on behalf of sellers, or guarantee transactions.
1. Using DoBid
DoBid is a mobile-first local auction marketplace operated for Canada and the USA. You must be of legal age to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
2. Listings
You may only list items you legally own and have the right to sell. Listings must comply with the Prohibited items policy. Listings cannot be edited after bidding starts; before the first bid, you may edit.
3. Withdrawing a listing
A seller may withdraw their own listing at any time before a bid has been accepted, from My Selling. Withdrawing removes the item from the marketplace and stops it being entered into any future auction. If the listing already has bids, everyone who bid is notified that their bid no longer stands; nothing is charged to them. Once a seller has accepted a bid, the listing can no longer be withdrawn — the transaction stands and is completed or resolved under sections 5 and 6.
4. Bidding
A bid is a binding offer to buy the item at that amount. Placing a bid requires a valid card on file. See the Bidding terms for the full rules.
5. Seller decision
At auction close, the seller can accept or decline the highest bid. The seller cannot accept a lower bid or counteroffer through the platform.
6. Pickup and payment
Auctions are local pickup only. After acceptance, the buyer pays the seller directly in person for the accepted item price. Pickup must occur within 4 days of acceptance unless both parties agree otherwise.
7. Buyer fee and card authorization
When a seller accepts a winning bid, DoBid authorizes and immediately captures a buyer fee equal to 10% of the accepted amount from the buyer’s saved card (minimum $1, maximum $1,000). The buyer pays the accepted item price separately to the seller at pickup.
8. Fees
Listing and bidding are free. The 10% buyer fee is disclosed before bidding and charged only when the seller accepts the winning bid. If the seller declines or does not accept, DoBid charges nothing.
9. No escrow, no warranty
DoBid is a marketplace, not an escrow service. DoBid does not collect the item purchase price, does not guarantee the condition of items, and does not warrant that any listing description is accurate. Buyers are responsible for inspecting items before completing a transaction.
10. Conduct
You agree not to harass other users, post misleading content, attempt to bypass auctions, manipulate bids, or break any applicable law. Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, charges for damages, and referral to law enforcement.
11. Privacy
Your use of DoBid is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
DoBid may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use of DoBid after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through Support, or by email to info@dobid.ca.
