How can we help?

Find answers about buying, selling, bidding, pickup, fees, and your account.

Getting started

For new users learning how DoBid works.

What is DoBid?
DoBid is a local auction marketplace. Sellers list items, buyers compete, and the seller reviews the highest offer when the auction ends.
How are DoBid auctions different?
Every auction starts at $1. Buyers compete until the auction ends, then the seller chooses whether to accept the highest offer. See how it works.

Buying

How to browse auctions, place bids, and watch items.

How do I place a bid?
Open an auction, review the pickup area and item details, then enter your bid. You need a valid card on file before you can bid.
Can I cancel a bid?
No. Bids are serious offers and cannot be cancelled unless DoBid support approves an exception.
What happens if I am the highest bidder?
When the auction ends, the seller reviews your offer. If the seller accepts, the transaction moves forward.

Selling

How to create listings, choose pickup areas, and review offers.

Is it free to list?
Yes. Sellers can list items for free — for now.
Am I forced to sell?
No. When the auction ends, you review the highest offer and choose whether to accept or decline.
What does the buyer see before bidding?
Buyers see your city and approximate pickup area. Your exact address is not shown publicly.

What you need to bid

Cards on file, bidding limits, and deposits.

What do I need before I can bid?
A valid card on file. Nothing is charged when you bid. Manage payment methods.
Is there a limit on how much I can bid?
No. DoBid does not cap how much you can bid across active auctions.
Do I need a deposit to bid on higher-value items?
No. DoBid no longer uses deposits. A card on file is the only requirement, whatever the item is worth.

Fees & Payments

How the 10% buyer fee, saved cards, and in-person pickup work.

What does DoBid charge?
Sellers list for free and buyers bid for free. If the seller accepts your winning bid, DoBid authorizes and immediately captures the 10% buyer fee from your saved card. See fees.
Does DoBid collect the full item price?
No. The buyer pays the seller directly in person at pickup.
Is anything ever charged to the buyer?
Yes. If the seller accepts the winning bid, DoBid immediately charges the disclosed buyer fee: 10% of the accepted bid, with a $1 minimum and $1,000 maximum. The buyer pays the item price separately to the seller at pickup.

Seller Acceptance

What happens after an auction ends and the seller reviews the final offer.

How long does a seller have to accept or decline?
After an auction ends, the seller has 48 hours to accept or decline the highest offer. If the seller does not decide within 48 hours, the offer expires and the transaction does not move forward.
What happens if the seller does not respond?
If the seller does not accept or decline within 48 hours, the offer expires. Nothing is charged, and the buyer is notified.
Is the seller forced to sell after 48 hours?
No. DoBid does not automatically force the seller to sell. If the seller does not make a decision within 48 hours, the offer expires.
What happens after an auction ends?
The seller reviews the highest offer and chooses whether to accept or decline within the 48-hour decision window.
What if the seller declines?
The transaction does not move forward, and nothing is charged.

Pickup & Viewings

Pickup areas, viewings, and arranging pickup after acceptance.

How does pickup work?
After the seller accepts an offer, the buyer and seller arrange pickup. The buyer pays the seller directly in person.
Is my exact address shown publicly?
No. Buyers only see the city and approximate pickup area before bidding.

Account

Login, profile, notifications, settings, and payment methods.

How do I change my email or password?
How do I enable two-factor authentication?
Account → Security → Enable authenticator app. We support TOTP codes.
How do I delete my account?
You delete it yourself, in the app. Go to Account → Security and choose Delete account. It happens immediately — no support ticket, no email step, no waiting period — and it cannot be undone. You do not have to settle anything first.
What is erased when I delete my account, and what is kept?
Erased: your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, bio, saved location, saved searches, watchlist, notification settings, saved card details and the messages you sent. Any item of yours still up for auction is withdrawn from sale and its photos removed.
Kept, without your name: your bids, accepted transactions, commitment holds, fee charges and audit history. They stay on record as “Deleted user” so the people you dealt with keep their record of the transaction. A commitment hold that is still open stays open and runs its course.

Trust & Safety

Reports, safe pickup, suspicious users, and marketplace rules.

How does DoBid reduce unserious bidding?
DoBid requires a card on file before you can bid, and places a temporary commitment hold on that card once a seller accepts your offer.
How do I report a problem?
Use the Report an Issue page and include the listing link, user profile, or transaction details if available.

Contact Support

How to get help if something goes wrong.

How do I contact DoBid support?
